AWS Immersion Day brought together industry professionals Alexander Dragunov and Garry Singh from AWS, to discuss Application Modernization. The event also involved a hands-on workshop focused on Babelfish for Aurora PostgreSQL. This full-day occasion was held on June 23, 2022, in Dubai, UAE, and witnessed lots of learning new skills, exchanging of experiences, and networking. The Zero&One team was excited to meet fellow players in the industry while also supporting the AWS team as AWS Premier Tier Services Partners.
Alexander Dragunov, a senior partner solutions architect at AWS, talked about AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) as a modern way to build an AWS infrastructure. He zeroed in on the development workflow and gave some insight into the most used commands and the main components of CDK. Discussing Babelfish for Aurora PostgreSQL, Garry Singh, Partner SA Microsoft Workload on AWS, went over the motivations for migration and the challenges that come with migration from commercial to open source. His talk was insightful, to say the least, shedding light on Babelfish and the steps of migration. Everyone in attendance learned a lot, and the day was a complete success. We look forward to joining the AWS team in their upcoming events to exchange and share industry insights and skills in order to better serve our customers and cater to the region’s growing digital transformation needs.
